Today, I have something very special for you, and it’s for all the Fallout fans out there. I’m going to be pitting the toughest with the weakest in an all out Fallout montage series. So, here are some of the things that will be taking place, you can make your votes:

My Opinion:

Now, I haven’t yet tried this out, but I think that the Legion’s Centurions and Caesar will be able to take out the Veteran Rangers together, if not, Legate Lanius will quickly finish them all off, including General Lee Oliver.

Welcome to the first edition of “In Focus”. Today we’re taking one of the largest factions from one of the bestselling and award winning franchises in history, yes I’m talking about Fallout. The latest game, Fallout New Vegas is a big improvement from previous great offerings, giving us a great story line, a huge world and some factions and people to meet. The re-play ability of this game is phenomenal. Lets move onto the best part, and focus on Caesar’s Legion.

It’s one of the three main factions in Fallout New Vegas, led by a charismatic guy, named Caesar. In the Legion, they believe in bringing “civilization” into the Mojave Wasteland, and plan to invade Hoover Dam, and take over New Vegas to do it. During their first attempt, they were defeated thanks to their poorly planned leader, Legate Joshua Graham. After the failure, Caesar lit him on fire, and threw him into the great canyon. They’ve now re-build, recruited and have a new Battlefield Commander, Legate Lanius. Personally, Lanius is one of my most favorite  characters in gaming, if you’ve played this, you’ll understand why. Once you complete the main story line part, of killing the man who attempted to murder you, when you walk out of his casino, you’ll be greeted by a man named Vulpes Inculta, he will give you the “Mark of Caesar” which will give you the official ticket you need to join the Legion. He will ask you to travel to Cottonwood Cove, and you’ll get a boat across to meet Caesar himself. Once you get there, and talk with Caesar (you’ll have the Platinum Chip) he’ll ask you to go down to the Weather Station at the end of the fort, and fit the chip into a small console. You can choose to do this, which will gain you fame with the Legion, and Caesar will ask further of your assistance. You’ll do various missions, such as kill Mr. House, President Kimball and wipe out the Brotherhood of Steel. You can also do side missions, for some highly ranked members of the Legion, such as Arelius, Lucius and Vulpes. Once you finish those missions, and optionally complete the mission about Caesar’s Brain Tumor, you will be

asked to go and meet the Legate, down at Legate’s Camp. Upon going there, you’ll meet Lanius himself for the first time, the player and himself will discuss his plans for the Battle of Hoover Dam, then order you across to attack the Dam. Once you win, Legate Lanius will personally congratulate you himself, and the ending cutscene will roll. Here’s a few images of the Legion:

One of the biggest topics in gaming today, Battlefield 3. EA have been in the middle of a grudge, as Activisions Call of Duty series appears to have topped most of their games in recent years. It wasn’t until Medal of Honor hit the shelves last year that the gaming industry started to get weary of the same old Call of Duty. This gave EA’s DICE the opportunity to hit them all with Battlefield 3 at the end of this year. Now, judging from the videos, images and hype built up for this game, it sounds like it’s going to be amazing. But, it’ll have to compete with Holiday 2010′s CoD: Black Ops, and this years CoD offering. It also has to be able to top this months biggest launch, Homefront. In the future it’ll have to deal with the rumored to be up-and-coming, Halo 4, Modern Warfare 3, Gears of War 3 and more. Judging by the trailer, this won’t have too many problems shocking the FPS players of the world when it finally hits the shelves. But of course, this is only my personal opinion.
